The recent recalibration of FC Ifeanyi Ubah ahead of the 2015/2016 Nigeria Premier Football League {NPFL} season may have set the radar of clubs in the sub continent on the Nnewi based side as the club is set to battle Ghana giants, Accra Heart of Oaks and Asante Kotoko in a series of preseason matches billed for Sunday and Wednesday respectively.
Recall that the invigorated premier League side, after its closed camping in Ibadan, sent an early warning signal to other premier league clubs as they beat premier league new entrants, Mountain of Fire and Miracle FC in its first friendly on Sunday at the Agege township stadium in Lagos in one of its preseason matches ahead of the new season..
The match between FC Ifeanyi Ubah and Accra Hearts of Oak, which is expected to live up to its billing will kick off by 2PM on Sunday, 31st January, inside the Accra township stadium. The match will see the Nigerian side field most of its new signings, including the six Brazilian imports as it intensifies preparations and sets its eyes on capturing one of the continental tickets at the end of the new season.
The second match of this series, pits the Anambra Warriors against Asante Kotoko and will be played in Kumasi on Wednesday, 3rd of February.
Returnee Chief Coach, Mitko Dobrev is expected to use these high profiled preseason matches to launch his full return to the NPFL, after a sabbatical as well as his aspirations, having promised to win the 2015/2016 NPFL season with the rejuvenated Nnewi side.
Sources close to FC Ifeanyi Ubah's camp also noted that the team would be storming Accra and Kumasi with hundreds of its supporters who are expected to gather at its camp site in Lagos on Saturday, where it would take off from, ahead of the visit to cheer the team in Ghana.
