Osimhen scored a staggering 10 goals in 7 appearances at the tournament in Chile leading to interests from Arsenal, Wolfsburg, FC Porto and top European clubs.
Wolfsburg announced an exchange programme co-operation with the Ultimate Strikers Academy in Nigeria ,Osimhen's former academy, saying players of the academy will have the opportunity to train with the club's various youth and senior sides.
Wolfsburg's Director of Sport Klaus Allofs said on the club's official website:
"We are delighted to welcome our first international cooperation partner, in the Ultimate Strikers Academy, here as VfL Wolfsburg. "For talented youngsters such as Victor Osimhen, it is a major advantage to combine the games at home with the academy team, with knowledge of youth training and operational processes in European professional football." After he claimed the Youth Player of the Year at the Caf Awards in Abuja earlier this month, Osimhen revealed Wolfsburg was now his preferred destination. “I have visited the team in Wolfsburg and with the promises the coach made to me when I visited the stadium, I think Wolfsburg is my destination,” he said.
