Teenage Nigerian Sues EgyptAir For N500m

image

WITH worldwide concerns over the crash of its flight MS804 on Thursday, with 56 passengers and 10 crew members on board feared killed, there appears to be more reasons why EgyptAir has to worry.

The case of a 17-year-old Nigerian medical student, Joshua Adekunle-AbdulAzeez came up same Thursday in Lagos where he filed a N500 million suit before a Federal High Court against the airline which wrongly routed him to Moldova, instead of Ukraine, where he schools.
Adekunle-AbdulAzeez, a minor, filed the suit through his next of kin, Favour Anire-Gbenebichie, who happens to be his mother. He is seeking reliefs from the defendant in the sum of N500 million as general damages; the sum of N373,891 as special damages, being the cost of the full economy return ticket which the claimant had purchased from the defendant and which he was prevented from using.
Others were the sum of 790 Euros or its naira equivalent at the prevailing exchange rate, as special damages, being the cost of additional one-way economy ticket from Istanbul to Kiev which the claimant’s mother purchased after he was deported to Turkey from Moldova; the sum of 160,341 Indian rupees or its naira equivalent at the prevailing exchange rate, as special damages, being the value of the electronic appliances removed from the claimant’s damaged suitcase as a result of the defendant’s recklessness in the course of his four-day ordeal.
Adekunle-AbdulAzeez is also asking for the sum of $1,721.74 or its naira equivalent at the prevailing exchange rate, as special damages, being the value of lost items from the claimant’s missing and damaged suitcases as a result of the defendant’s recklessness, and the claimant’s counsel’s legal fees.
At the hearing on Thursday, before Justice C. A. Obiozor, the matter could not go on as the claimant’s counsel, Mr Godwin Omoaka, sought an adjournment pending when the claimant would be in Nigeria to give evidence before the court. However, Justice Obiozor adjourned the matter till June 27 and July 4, for further proceedings.
Statement of claim
The claimant in his statement of claim said that on August 15, 2014, he and his mother had gone to the defendant’s office at 22B Idowu Taylor Street, Victoria Island, Lagos to book a passenger ticket from Murtala Mohammed International Airport, Lagos to Borispol International Airport, Kiev, Ukraine in order for him to return to school to continue his studies at Dnepropetrovsk Medical Academy, Dnepropetrovsk, Ukraine.
But on arriving at the defendant’s office, he and his mother met one Tony Nzam who identified himself as the defendant’s ticketing agent, and after much discussion with the defendant on the claimant’s proposed trip to Ukraine with the ticketing agent and examining the options available, the claimant then requested to purchase a full economy return ticket for a flight from Murtala Mohammed International Airport, Lagos to Borispol International Airport, Kiev.
However, Nzam explained to the claimant and his mother that his trip which was expected to terminate at Bristol International Airport, Kiev, in Ukraine, would be routed from Lagos, Nigeria to Cairo, Egypt; from Egypt to Istanbul, Turkey; and then from Istanbul, Turkey to Kiev, Ukraine. After the explanation of the defendant, the claimant accepted and then purchased a full economy return ticket at N373,891 and then the defendant issued a ticket to the claimant.
The claimant averred that upon a review of the ticket while still at the defendant’s office, he and his mother noticed that the international airport code indicated on his travel itinerary as “KIV” and Chisinau International Airport indicated on his ticket was irregular and unfamiliar as it was different from the airport code for Borispol International Airport, Kiev, Ukraine which is “KBP” which the complainant was familiar with from his previous trips on the same route.

Security Guard Left in Hot Tears After Comedian Seyi Law Gave Him Three Dirty Slaps

image
Comedian Seyi Law manhandled a security guard named Peter Ethan at the prestigious Eko Hotel and Suites.
According to Vanguard, SeyiLaw ferociously slapped Ethan across the face three times as he was trying to maneuver his way out of the hotel after the conclusion of Kiss Daniel’s album concert in the early hours of Monday, May 16, 2016.
As guests and participants trooped out of the venue also driving out in his Porsche car, Seyi was accosted by the security guard, trying to inform him of an alternative route he could take to ease the vehicular movement and avoid traffic.
Suddenly, with the speed of light, the comedian angrily flew out of his car and dazed the security guard, Peter Ethan, with three hot resounding slaps that got him probably seeing stars and staggering for balance.
Lost for words as to why the comedian bullied him in such a rascally manner, Ethan burst into uncontrollable tears. On seeing their colleague in such an emotional state, Peter’s fellow security guards rushed to the spot to inquire what transpired.
Immediately they got to the gist of what happened, they took sides with Peter, one of them even attempted to physically harass the comedian, but for the intervention of a few peacemakers and Seyi’s quick escape instincts, he would have been lynched by an angry mob that began to build.
When asked about what actually happened, an emotional Peter told Potpourri, Vanguard that, “I was only trying to redirect him through an alternative route which my boss instructed us on, to avoid traffic jam as guests drive out. To my greatest surprise, Seyi Law just jumped out of his car and began to hurl abusive words at me. While trying to explain to him he just suddenly gave me three dirty slaps. This has never happened to me before, is it because I’m putting on a security uniform? I didn’t expect this kind of attitude from Seyi Law”

10 Things You Must Stop Doing On Social Media

Image result for social media

As we all know, we’re in the 21st century, and technology has really made life easy and sweet and it has also connected the world together irrespective of distance or language barrier.
Social Media has really played a vital role in Communication and making the world a “Global Village”.
But despite being so useful and enjoyable, there is a need we apply restraints when using Social Media .. at least for our own good. There are certain things we mustn’t do on Social Media. Excerpts below :

1.Thanking A girl/boy for accepting your friend request : This is peculiar to Facebook, like seriously? do you really have to thank him/her for accepting your request? That only makes you look childish and desperate as if you were begging him/her before. Its definitely not smart!
2.Overusing hashtags : You see someone who posted a comment on Facebook or twitter and at the end of the comment you see stuffs like #21May #WeLoveU #LetsKeepitrolling .. come-on bro! do you really need to write that many hashtags? That will only look childish and make the post look so annoying to read. #Fact (I just used one grin)
3.Asking people to follow you back : Why must you make yourself look so desperate? Why not create a little self pride at least! Asking people to follow you back will just make you look more or less like a roadside beggar begging for some little change!
4. Asking for a lady’s Unclad pictures :Most guys are guilty of this, you strike up a conversation with a girl on Facebook, and after chitchatting and getting on well with her, then you suddenly demand for her Unclad.s, come-on bros! You are only showing her that you’re pervert who is only after S3x, Be a gentleman!
5. Plagiarism :When you see an inspirational post or a funny tweet or a unique photo, and you feel the need to show your friends and followers, then you must at least give credit to the owner or original writer of the content.. but reverse seems to be the case, people on social media copy and paste contents and parade it as though they were the original writer.. and that is not good! Plagiarism is a serious offence in most countries, I dunno about Nigeria
6. Posting the same content over and over again : There’s this annoying guy that I have in my Facebook, he keeps posting one particular picture over and over again, I dunno really know why he does that ,perhaps because he wore a nice suit in the photo.. I got so tired of seeing the photo.. and the funny thing is that he hardly even get one ‘like’ .. lol.. why post the same old thing over again, it ain’t cool.
7. Posting revealing photos : This goes to mostly the girls, why must you go half-Unclad on social media just because you wanna get likes and comments.. silly comments like “you’re hot” “dope bae” “S3xy momma” .. not knowing that you’re giving the impression that you’re an “olosho” .. Real talk!
Decency pays, you know cool
8. Sharing your home address : Hehehe .. I was going through one of my Guy’s. Facebook profile, then I saw “17B Olusanya street,Maryland”.. I was like WTF!!! .Who asked you to share such a personal info? Are you running an office in your house? C’mon dude!
9. Constantly bragging about yourself : Some people are so good at show-offs on social media, especially those who are broke-A$$es in real life.. Must you snap in front of a mirror just to show us your new phone? .. you’re definitely not the first to buy such phone sef undecided .. you mustn’t show us your new Timberland or your new wristwatches.. N!ggah keep it to yourself .. no one asked you to show us.. duurrh! Lets be real!
Getting into arguments :
Lol .. I used to be guilty of this before. but I realised that there’s absolutely no point in getting into arguments with anyone on social media.. cuz people aren’t always the way you see them on social media, they might be different you know! .. Why not just ignore if someone tries to pick a fight.. in real sense, that makes you look cool and the person dumb! hehehe
I rest my fingers at this moment, Like some people will always say, “Do not take anything on social media too serious .. they might be joking. lol.

Photos: See The Popular Nigerian pastor accused of having affairs with over 20 women in his church

Popular Nigerian pastor, Sunday Adelaja’s church is currently enmeshed  in an adultery scandal following allegations that he had extramarital affairs with at least 20 women in his church.
Adelaja, founder of one of Europe’s largest churches, Embassy of the Blessed Kingdom of God for All Nations Church in Kiev, Ukraine, is now under fire to step down as the spiritual head of the church.
The pastor however denied all allegations levelled against him, saying it is an attempt by some people to take over the church from him.

“That is not true at all; I have read what people are saying about me. The funny thing is that nobody asked me for any information; no interview was granted to anyone,” he told SUNDAY PUNCH in an email.
In a statement on its website, the Russian Union of Christians Evangelical Faith stated that Adelaja, at a meeting of pastors and board of elders of the church, confessed to having committed adultery with his female parishioners and that he had repented.
According to a letter posted on the website of the Spiritual Council Russian Union of Christians Evangelical Faith (Pentecostals), written by one Apostle Toff Ulissis, a clergyman said to be providing spiritual care to the Nigerian pastor, Adelaja was urged to “seek psychiatric help in Kiev and the United States.”
Ulissis said, “Pastor Sunday mentioned that he had a relationship with 20 or 30 women; probably, the number was more than he could remember. Also, I talked with many women (married and unmarried), as well as with their husbands, and they shared with me their pain and described how the pastor manipulates people, who work for him. All the stories were equally horrific, disgusting and depressing. People are very sorry about the current situation with the pastor and wanted him to have psychiatric help.
“I made it clear that my aim is not to destroy either the Embassy of God, because many people have found help in the church or Pastor Sunday as a person. I wanted to make sure that everything has been done to these women and the couples have received care, reconciliation and redeeming restoration.”
Also, a bishop in Adelaja’s church, Anatoly Belonozhko, has resigned from the church, saying the embattled pastor was not willing to seek help.
“We, as  church elders, began to create new projects and exercises to heal and restore the church, a new structure, and of course, help our pastor. But Pastor Sunday in writing categorically rejected our help, humiliating us and saying that we have no power to tell him what to do and how to do it and that he knows how and what to do.
“For 22 years in the Church of the Embassy of God, of which 14 years in the rank of bishop, I have always been faithful and responsible before God and people for their service. Taking this opportunity, I want to refute the lie that I knew of pastor’s sin for a long time. I found out about the moral fall of Pastor Sunday in the middle of December 2015 through the pastors of the Apostolic Council. After I learned about it, I talked to Pastor Sunday, trying to help. Remaining in the church in the most difficult time for all of us to save and restore the church and souls of men. But as I understand it, the pastor does not need my help,” Belonozhko said.
Debunking all allegations against him, Adelaja stated,
“It is actually an old story that was cooked up by some disgruntled members of my leadership team when they knew of my decision to hand over the church because of my plan to return to Africa.
“So, it’s a leadership tussle from those whose desires for church leadership were not granted. I’m happy with my wife. The church here in Ukraine is doing well. So I thank God that their stories though believed by some without confirmation is still false nevertheless.
